Physical Appearance: At eighteen years old and an unimpressive 5'2", Cassie's stature matches her timid personality. Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. She has delicately formed features that are often described as "cute", especially with that little nose (that turns upward ever so slightly at the end), that are set with a pair of pale blue eyes that sometimes appear lilac in certain lights. Her skin is quite pale despite how much time she spends outside, although she does keep most of her body covered with her attire, which is an odd blend of adorable, modest, and sexy. It consists of a black tank top under a long-sleeved shirt that hangs off of her shoulders, the body being white and the sleeves being a dark indigo, with a front pocket edged in pale blue; this shirt is long enough that it mostly covers her (admittedly short) green plaid skirt. This skirt reveals a few inches of pale thigh before the remainder of her legs are covered by a set of striped stockings in two shades of purple. Topping off the ensemble is a pair of plain white sneakers with black accents. She wears a golden oval locket around her neck which has a picture of her father, and a brown leather belt around her left thigh.

Skills: Cassie is a skilled singer, although usually too shy to sing where people can hear her. She can also ride a bike and rollerskate, preferring the latter to the former; she can often be seen skating around town, listening to music.

Personality: Shy and non-confrontational, Cassie doesn't often speak to others, and perpetually keeps a lollipop in her mouth to use as an excuse to avoid conversation. She likes to read and keep to herself and doesn't have any true friends. She's fascinated by Pokemon and likes to learn as much about them as she can, which is a large part of what drove her to become a Pokemon trainer. She also wants to see the world and all the amazing things it has to offer. She loves cute and cuddly things and her favorite Pokemon is the only one she currently owns, Piplup.

She was shunned by the other children from a very young age, and that was fine by her; she was perfectly happy to spend most of her time with her favorite person in the world, her father Will. But when Cassie was eight, her father fell ill and ended up in the hospital. After a few months of struggling against illness, he passed away. Cassie, who had never been close to her mother, withdrew into herself, becoming even more reclusive than before. She found solace in reading her father's books about Pokemon, and studying them as he had done. She wanted to make him proud, and so when she finished her schooling, she decided to become a Pokemon trainer and see the world.

Cassie squeaked in surprised delight and scurried over, snagging the Pokeball and tucking it into her backpack. Then she scooped up Piplup and nuzzled her, cuddling both the penguin and the fox happily as she celebrated. "We did it! You're both so amazing!" But then she heard a very alarming noise.. that of trees being toppled over. Her eyes widened in alarm as the Steelix came lunging out of the trees, and she froze.. and then she screamed, a shrill, piercing cry of fear. Just that seemed to jar her out of her frozen terror, and then she turned around and sprinted off into the trees - now she was fleeing in terror, which was definitely preferable. "DECLAN HELP!" She screamed again, barreling along with Vulpix and Piplup in her arms, staring fearfully over her shoulders at the pursuing Steelix.

"CASSIE? What happened what's wrong!"
Declans muffled voice comes from the phone as the girl runs. The steelix goes storming after her, only to be stopped dead in it's tracks. The reason it stopped is Ember, the infernape had leapt into the air and onto the large pokemons head. It had then unleashed a flurry of punches onto the Steelix driving it into the ground. The mighty pokemon was K.O.'d instantly, but the fight wasn't over yet. More steelix's burst forth and the ape pokemon flung itself into battle. Meanwhile Declan had jumped onto Inferno's back. He was shooting toward Cassie as quickly as he can, but he was still minutes away.

Cassie was entirely unaware of what Ember was doing, except for Piplup chirping anxiously in her ear. There was no way she was stopping.. definitely not. She wasn't exactly in the best shape, she was scrawny and lacking in muscle, but adrenaline gave her a strength and endurance she normally lacked. The glory of the fight-or-flight reflex. Hearing Declan's voice coming from her shirt's pocket, she nearly sobbed in relief, but didn't risk reaching into her pocket to retrieve the item, for fear she'd drop it. So she simply yelled as she continued running, dodging around tree trunks and jumping over roots, her breath coming in harsh, gasping pants.
"Steelix! Lots of Steelix! Very angry! Help!"

Declan heard Cassie screaming and sobbing and he growled. He presses his fingers to the stone set in his bracelet and Inferno begins to glow. The sun's rays seem to intensifies and the charizard's speed increases drastically. Ember meanwhile turns into a burning hot ball of fury that slams into a steelix knocking it aside. The infernape though is damaged by the attack and staggers. Still he keeps fighting charging toward another one. Meanwhile another steelix burst from the ground in front of Cassie. What in the name of Arceus was going on?

Cassie screamed again as another Steelix erupted from the earth in front of her, and she skidded to a stop, barely avoiding crashing into the giant, snake-like rock Pokemon. She immediately changed direction, stumbling over herself as she struggled not to trip and fall, and began heading down the slope, figuring that maybe she'd be safe if she could just get off the mountain. She got back up to speed as fast as she could, but she was losing strength slowly, and her chest was starting to ache, her lungs burning as she fought for air. She wouldn't be able to keep running for long.. and although she hated to do it, she knew that carrying the full weight of Piplup and Vulpix wasn't helping. Fumbling a Pokeball at a time out of her backpack, she managed to put the two back into their confinements and then thrust the spheres into her backpack, before pulling the Pokenav out of her shirt pocket and gripping it for dear life while she fled. The lack of weight helped, and she was able to speed up, darting and dodging and jumping as she fled the horde of angry Pokemon, with tears streaming unhindered down her face.

Ember was rapidly running out of steam. Flare Blitz was hitting him with recoil and close comabt dropped his defenses. A few of the steelix got in hits and he was trembling with fatigue. A red beam of light hits him and he vanishes back into his pokeball. Then from the sky fire erupted engulfing the steelix. Where Inferno's flamethrower hit the might pokemon crashed to the ground. Charizard was in it's mega form and it took a breath before releasing a bolt of pure light, the solar beam swept across steelix like a laser blasting the snakes away.  The pokemon swooped in low and Declan lept from Inferno's back. He comes rushing up next to Cassie and without waiting scoops her into his arms. He takes off running again his long legs carrying him far faster than hers, even with her added weight. |

Cassie felt the heat behind her and flinched, stumbling and barely catching herself against a tree. Her legs were trembling and they were close to giving out, specks floating alarmingly in her vision. Just as she was about to collapse, Declan scooped her up, and she cried out hoarsely, afraid.. until she realized what, or rather who, had her. Then, she knew she was safe. She clung to him, hiding her face against his neck as she trembled in his arms and struggled to breathe somewhat normally. She was so tired, the fear and exhaustion of her mad flight overwhelming even her joy at having caught Pancham. She wanted to ask if he was okay, make sure he hadn't been harmed trying to rescue her, but she still couldn't even draw a full breath.. it would have to wait until they were somewhere safe.

The mega evolved pokemon made short work of the remaining steelix and Declan quickly brought Cassie back to camp. He didn't release her until they were back at their tent. Actually he didn't release her when they were at the tent. He waited until Inferno returned to signaling the issue had been dealt with. Then he looked down at Cassie and said voice thick with worry.
"Are you okay, you're not hurt right?"

She'd managed to resume breathing somewhat normally by the time they arrived at the camp, but her lungs still ached and her chest felt tight. Though Cassie wasn't sure if that was because of her exertion or because of fear or because Declan was holding her like she was something fragile to be protected. Sniffling, she wiped away her tears with a shaking hand and pulled back slightly, looking up at him as he spoke. She shook her head unsteadily, those wide blue eyes searching his face, before she managed to find her voice and speak. Even when she did, it was hoarse from all the screaming she'd done, forcing her to nearly whisper.
"N-no, I'm not hurt.. just scared and tired... Are you alright? Were you attacked? Are your Pokemon okay?" Unless he let her go, she'd remained curled up in his arms, trembling and exhausted. She couldn't seem to stop crying, tears rolling unnoticed down her face, although she managed to find the presence of mind to put her Pokenav in her backpack with shaking hands, before dropping the item to the tent floor and clinging to Declan again.

"I wasn't attacked. Embers fine just a bit worn out, Inferno is out of power, but he is also fine."
Declan doesn't release Cassie, for whatever reason he doesn't want to. He just enjoys her soft warmth pressed against him and the relief in knowing she is okay. He gently wipes the tears from Cassie's face and smiles down at her. He had been so worried when he heard her screaming and he had been so relieved that he had made it in time. He rests his head against her forehead and lets out a relieved sigh. She was safe, she was unhurt, everything was fine.

Relief suffused her being as Declan confirmed that he was unharmed, and his Pokemon were okay, if exhausted. Her shoulders slumped as the tension of fear left her, and Cassie breathed a tearful sound that was not quite a laugh. But when he wiped the tears from her face, she looked up at him with wide eyes. What was he..? He was smiling at her. And then his forehead was resting against hers. He was so close, it made her heart skip a beat and then begin beating even faster. He was still holding her. Why was he still holding her? He looked as relieved as she felt. Relieved that she was okay? He'd saved her. She could've died! What if she had died without telling him how she felt? The thought made her heart tumble unpleasantly, and for the first time in her life, Cassie gave in to impulse. She tilted her head up and pressed her lips to his. It was a shy, hesitant, inexperienced kiss, but all the feelings were there: Hope, affection, attraction, uncertainty, longing, fear.. though whether or not Declan could discern these things in just that one action was up for debate, she didn't much care. She was kissing him. And it just felt so.. so great.

Declan's eyes open wide in surprise as Cassie's lips met his. The man had never been kissed before, despite everything. He had always been more interested in battles than woman. Still he was a man of impulse. It took him only a minute to decide that he quire enjoyed the kiss. It wasn't long after this decision that he started to kiss Cassie back and he was not as shy as she was. His kiss was fierce and passionate, it burned with his desire to enjoy her, her soft lips and warm body pressed against him.

When he didn't respond at first, Cassie started to wonder if she'd made a mistake. Was she reading him wrong? Was Declan not interested after all? She was probably wrong, she'd never been good at understanding other people. And then he began to kiss her back. She gasped in surprise, and then made a soft sound that was caught somewhere between a squeak and a moan. Her eyes closed, and despite the fact that she had absolutely no idea what she was doing, she kissed him back wholeheartedly. It was clumsy and awkward as she tried to figure out what she was doing, her arms sliding around his neck and holding her body even closer to his as they kissed. She'd been dreaming about this for days now, but the reality trumped her imagination, a thousandfold. Why hadn't she done this sooner?!

The kiss lasted for quite a while, but after a few minutes he breaks it. He looks into Cassie's eyes for a long moment. His emotions had always been rather simple and straight forward, with this kiss the more confusing emotions he had pushed aside straightened out. He liked Cassie and he wanted her to stay with him. With that settled in his mind he decides to kiss her again. This time his desire turns the kiss into a roaring all consuming flame. If Cassie wasn't careful his natural impulsiveness and passionate nature may take things to far.

Cassie gasped again when Declan broke the kiss, and her blue eyes blinked rapidly open, letting her look up at him questioningly. Had she done something wrong? She bit her lip, but before she could say anything, he was kissing her again. She closed her eyes and kissed him back, her fingers gently twisting into his hair. It didn't even occur to her that things could escalate quickly. She was such a mixture of elated that he apparently felt the same about her, relieved to still be alive, and overwhelmed by the passion of his kiss, that nothing seemed to matter but that moment, and the way it felt to kiss him, and the heat of his body, and how safe she felt in his arms. She'd probably stop him if things went much further, but for now, she was perfectly happy, and just wanted to keep kissing him for as long as she could.
