Declan is far more diligent in his search for Pancham. Unfortunately the pokemon isn't native to Kanto. Pokemon often come in from other parts of the continent so it isn't impossible, just unlikely. Still it looks like there was no luck today. Still he searched diligently except for a brief break for lunch. Eventually as the sun approaches the horizon he calls Cassie back to camp. Where he prepares dinner, another simple camp meal this time stir fried veggie. Then unless Cassie did something there would be a repeat of last nights events.

Physical Appearance: At eighteen years old and an unimpressive 5'2", Cassie's stature matches her timid personality. Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. She has delicately formed features that are often described as "cute", especially with that little nose (that turns upward ever so slightly at the end), that are set with a pair of pale blue eyes that sometimes appear lilac in certain lights. Her skin is quite pale despite how much time she spends outside, although she does keep most of her body covered with her attire, which is an odd blend of adorable, modest, and sexy. It consists of a black tank top under a long-sleeved shirt that hangs off of her shoulders, the body being white and the sleeves being a dark indigo, with a front pocket edged in pale blue; this shirt is long enough that it mostly covers her (admittedly short) green plaid skirt. This skirt reveals a few inches of pale thigh before the remainder of her legs are covered by a set of striped stockings in two shades of purple. Topping off the ensemble is a pair of plain white sneakers with black accents. She wears a golden oval locket around her neck which has a picture of her father, and a brown leather belt around her left thigh.

She likes to read and keep to herself and doesn't have any true friends. She's fascinated by Pokemon and likes to learn as much about them as she can, which is a large part of what drove her to become a Pokemon trainer. She also wants to see the world and all the amazing things it has to offer. She loves cute and cuddly things and her favorite Pokemon is the only one she currently owns, Piplup.

Cassie, who had never been close to her mother, withdrew into herself, becoming even more reclusive than before. She found solace in reading her father's books about Pokemon, and studying them as he had done. She wanted to make him proud, and so when she finished her schooling, she decided to become a Pokemon trainer and see the world.

Cassie was quiet but cheerful throughout dinner, but when bedtime rolled around, she tried to prolong it as much as possible. Finally, an hour or so after Declan went to bed, she gave up and crawled into her sleeping bag, thinking that maybe if she wasn't there when he first fell asleep, they wouldn't have a repeat of the night before. She was wrong. Once again, she didn't try to fight it.. she could acknowledge that sleeping cuddled up to him like this was very nice, even while it made her heart ache. She slept peacefully, sleeping deeper and longer than she normally did.. but this time, when morning rolled around, she didn't try to get away from him after she woke up. She simply laid there, and, cheeks flushed, she allowed herself to imagine. She dreamed of what it would be like to hold his hand, to have him look at her like she'd seen couples do, to sit in his arms while he was awake and watch the sunset, to kiss him, to be touched..! She squirmed, and sighed. This was hard. She wasn't sure she'd be able to take it.

Declan slept just as well as he had previously. When he awakes he blinks blearily at Cassie. He yawns and stretches out his back holding her for a minute, before saying curiously.
"You are not a wigglytuff, but you are very soft and tiny. That explains the dream."
He doesn't seem at all perturbed by waking up with the girl in his arms. Indeed he smiles down at her and holds her for another a moment before he lets go. Once she is free he crawls out of his sleeping bag and it isn't long before he is dressed. He gets out of the tent and sets about making breakfast. Once it is out of the way he lets Cassie know the second day will be much like the first. Heading out on his own and leaving her with Ember.

Cassie had begun to drift off again when she felt Declan stir, and turned her head so she could look over her shoulder at him. Her cheeks were still flushed, but she was smiling as she looked at him and spoke quietly. "I didn't want to say anything.. I don't mind all that much, really..." And.. he was still holding her. She bit her lip and looked away, scrambling out of his arms the moment he let her go. She pulled her clothes back on and was mostly quiet as they ate breakfast, and when it came time for them to resume their search, she watched him go with a sigh. She began walking with Piplup in her arms and Vulpix and Ember on either side of her. She walked for a few hours, searching as much as she could focus upon while her mind wandered, when suddenly, there was a rustling in the brush in front of her. She froze, eyes wide, and held her breath. What was it..?

From out of the bush come a tiny figure. It is short and stocky with fierce eyes and a furry body. It is snacking on something and it looks at Cassie angrily. It then puts down it's snack raises it's tiny paws and charges. The pancham is looking for a fight.  |

Cassie's eyes rounded as the Pancham came into view, and she barely bit back a squeak. It was so cute! It was also apparently ferocious, as it dropped its snack and came barreling at her. Before she could think of something to say or do, Vulpix jumped out in front of her and lowered his front end, gazing at the Pancham in a challenging manner. That seemed to snap her out of her reverie, and as she set Piplup down, she fished her Pokenav out of her shirt's pocket, quickly dialing Declan with shaking hands as she called out.
"Vulpix, use Tail Whip!" Vulpix nodded and whipped around, shaking his tail at the Pancham in an adorable manner. Cassie stifled a giggle that probably would've sounded half-maniacal, she was so wound up. She'd found one! She hoped she could manage to subdue and catch it. She wanted to make friends with the tough little guy!

The pancham pulled up short when Vulpix waggled it's tails at it. It then cried out "P-AAAAAAN" and thrust it's paw at small fox. It is using arm thrust, unleashing a flurry of blows at the little fox.

Vulpix cried out, staggering under the torrent of hits, but didn't fall. He growled ferociously as Cassie tried to get in touch with Declan. Why wasn't he answering?! While she waited for him to respond to his Pokenav, she called out to Vulpix. "Use Ember!" Vulpix cried out and then opened his mouth to exhale a stream of fire at the Pancham. Cassie danced anxiously on her toes and waited for Declan to answer his Pokenav.

The pancham cries out in angry defiance as he is hit by the fire. Growling he let's loose with a karate chop. The little panada pokemon does it's best to stay close to the little fox. Not wanting it to get too far away. Meanwhile on the other side of the mountain Declan picks up his pokenav.

Physical Appearance: At eighteen years old and an unimpressive 5'2", Cassie's stature matches her timid personality. Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. She has delicately formed features that are often described as "cute", especially with that little nose (that turns upward ever so slightly at the end), that are set with a pair of pale blue eyes that sometimes appear lilac in certain lights. Her skin is quite pale despite how much time she spends outside, although she does keep most of her body covered with her attire, which is an odd blend of adorable, modest, and sexy. It consists of a black tank top under a long-sleeved shirt that hangs off of her shoulders, the body being white and the sleeves being a dark indigo, with a front pocket edged in pale blue; this shirt is long enough that it mostly covers her (admittedly short) green plaid skirt. This skirt reveals a few inches of pale thigh before the remainder of her legs are covered by a set of striped stockings in two shades of purple. Topping off the ensemble is a pair of plain white sneakers with black accents. She wears a golden oval locket around her neck which has a picture of her father, and a brown leather belt around her left thigh.

Skills: Cassie is a skilled singer, although usually too shy to sing where people can hear her. She can also ride a bike and rollerskate, preferring the latter to the former; she can often be seen skating around town, listening to music.

Personality: Shy and non-confrontational, Cassie doesn't often speak to others, and perpetually keeps a lollipop in her mouth to use as an excuse to avoid conversation. She likes to read and keep to herself and doesn't have any true friends. She's fascinated by Pokemon and likes to learn as much about them as she can, which is a large part of what drove her to become a Pokemon trainer. She also wants to see the world and all the amazing things it has to offer. She loves cute and cuddly things and her favorite Pokemon is the only one she currently owns, Piplup.

She was shunned by the other children from a very young age, and that was fine by her; she was perfectly happy to spend most of her time with her favorite person in the world, her father Will. But when Cassie was eight, her father fell ill and ended up in the hospital. After a few months of struggling against illness, he passed away. Cassie, who had never been close to her mother, withdrew into herself, becoming even more reclusive than before. She found solace in reading her father's books about Pokemon, and studying them as he had done. She wanted to make him proud, and so when she finished her schooling, she decided to become a Pokemon trainer and see the world.

Vulpix yelped as he was hit with the chop, and staggered again. Cassie tried to encourage him, unaware that Declan had finally answered and could hear her. "You can do it, Vulpix! I know you can! Give him another Tail Whip! You've got this!" Then she looked down at the Pokenav and squeaked excitedly. "Declan! I found one! Vulpix is fighting it! I think I may be having a minor heart attack!" She looked back up as Vulpix whipped around and shook his tails in the Pancham's face, ruffling the furry lengths of fluff all up in his personal bubble in the most endearing manner.

The Pancham snuffles and sneezes when the Vulpix wags it's tails in his face again. Then since the little fox is so close the feisty panada unleashes another flurry of arm thrusts. Declan checks the GPS on his phone to figure out where Cassie is and then heads in that direction. As he walks he talks to her handing out advice.
"Remember Tail Whip only lowers physical defense. Your Vulpix can't capitalize on that, but if you send out Piplup she can use pound. It will hit harder since Pancham's defenses are lowered."
Meanwhile a pair of large eyes falls upon the battle taking place. Something is stirring and it isn't happy.

Cassie watched with dismay and flinched as Vulpix cried out upon being hit with yet more strikes. "Okay! Right! Yes! Vulpix, come back! Piplup, get out there and hit him with a Pound!" Vulpix was limping slightly as he retreated to Cassie's side, slumping down and leaning against her leg for support. Piplup chirped angrily and waddled forward as fast as she could, speeding toward the Pancham. Once she was close enough, she jumped in the air and slammed her flipper down upon the other Pokemon. Cassie knelt down and carefully scooped Vulpix into her arms, cuddling the Pokemon close as he whimpered tiredly and laid his head on her shoulder. "Come on, Piplup, you can do this!"

The Pancham chased after the Vulpix as it limped away, but was distracted by the attacking Piplup. The penguin pokemon hit the panada hard and he was left exhausted on the ground. Now was Cassie's chance!

He was down! Cassie nearly dropped Vulpix in her excitement, but managed to shift him so that he was tucked completely into her left arm instead as she thrust the Pokenav back into her shirt pocket, and hastily pulled her backpack off her back. Extracting an empty Pokeball, she hurled it at the Pancham, praying that it would be a successful catch. Piplup stood ready to attack again, if needed, while Cassie crouched and shifted Vulpix into a more stable position, cuddling him close once more while her fingers gently petted the fluffy curls on his head. "Come on.. please work..!"

The pokeball shakes once, twice, three times and... Dings! Cassie has caught: Pancham Nature: Brave Ability: Iron Fist Gender Male: Moveset: Tackle, Work Up, Karate Chop, Arm Thrust Cassie would have just enough time to pick up the pokeball and celebrate. Then suddenly she would hear a crashing sound another pokemon is approaching. This one is far larger, far more intimidating, and far angrier. It's a wild Steelix and it smashes through the trees toward the young trainer.  |
