Physical Appearance: At eighteen years old and an unimpressive 5'2", Cassie's stature matches her timid personality. Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. She has delicately formed features that are often described as "cute", especially with that little nose (that turns upward ever so slightly at the end), that are set with a pair of pale blue eyes that sometimes appear lilac in certain lights. Her skin is quite pale despite how much time she spends outside, although she does keep most of her body covered with her attire, which is an odd blend of adorable, modest, and sexy. It consists of a black tank top under a long-sleeved shirt that hangs off of her shoulders, the body being white and the sleeves being a dark indigo, with a front pocket edged in pale blue; this shirt is long enough that it mostly covers her (admittedly short) green plaid skirt. She also wants to see the world and all the amazing things it has to offer. She loves cute and cuddly things and her favorite Pokemon is the only one she currently owns, Piplup.

But when Cassie was eight, her father fell ill and ended up in the hospital. After a few months of struggling against illness, he passed away. Cassie, who had never been close to her mother, withdrew into herself, becoming even more reclusive than before. She found solace in reading her father's books about Pokemon, and studying them as he had done. She wanted to make him proud, and so when she finished her schooling, she decided to become a Pokemon trainer and see the world.

Cassie smiled as the Vulpix took the food, and was quick to fish more out of her backpack, offering it to the Vulpix - and also giving some to Piplup so she didn't feel left out. She would win this creature's friendship yet! "See? I'm not so bad. You know, you could come with me - you could be friends with Piplup, and travel around with us, and play with all sorts of nice Pokemon.. and you could play with the ball anytime you like, and have delicious food like this. What do you think?" Piplup chirped and chattered, translating and trying to encourage the Vulpix to accept her offer. What Cassie really wanted to do was reach out and pet it. She bet those furry curls atop its head were so soft.. and those tails...

The vulpix looked at Cassie confused then to the happily chittering Piplup. Timidly it approaches the offered food and snags another morsel. This time though it stays within arms reach, Cassie could reach out pet the little fox if she was feeling bold enough. Meanwhile Declan stayed still watching the proceedings curiously, his expression thoughtful for a change.

Once the Vulpix took the food from her hand, she slowly, carefully titled the appendage so that she could brush her fingertips across the fluffy curls that crowned the Pokemon's head, gently stroking the fur and down behind an ear to pet. Her nails lightly ran through the fur there in a gentle skritching motion as she smiled, and cooed softly. "You're so cute and furry. I think you'd have a lot of fun with us, if you came along. Would you be willing to do that?" While she petted the Vulpix, her other hand reached into her backpack, grabbing another piece of food, and offered it while she stroked and scratched the Vulpix's head, neck, and ears.

The vulpix flinched slightly when Cassie petted it, but when the scritches came it leaned into her hand. Eventually it is letting out happy little Vuls clearly enjoying the attention. When the food is produced it clambers into Cassie's lap trying to snatch it as she pulls it out. Declan smiles and whispers.
"Try catching it once it finishes its meal."

Cassie looked at Declan and nodded in understanding when he spoke, and when the Vulpix climbed into her lap, she laughed softly, petting it and stroking its fluffy tail as it ate the food in her hand. But then her petting hand moved into her backpack and produced a Pokeball. Once the Vulpix finished eating, she activated the Pokeball, trying to catch the Vulpix. Hopefully it worked!

The vuplix disappeared within the pokeball and it shook, once, twice, three times. Then it went still and flashed Cassie has done it! She has caught her first pokemon. Declan tackles her in a hug and says with a laugh.
"Ha you did it! That's my student! And you even did it by befriending him instead of fighting."

Cassie stared at the Pokeball in amazement as it shook, and then was still. Her jaw dropped. She'd done it! She'd caught her first Pokemon! Before she could properly react, she found herself being tackled and wrapped in a hug by Declan, which made her squeak in surprise, and then laugh. She threw her arms around his neck and hugged him back, her features lit up with a blush and her eyes sparkling. "I did it! I can't believe I did it! That was amazing!" She drew back so that she could look up at Declan, her lips claimed by something that was exceptionally rare: A bright, happy Cassie grin. Piplup patted her side, and she looked down at the bird as she chirped. "You have a new friend, Piplup! Isn't that great?"

Declan had put her at arms length so he could smile at her and take her in. He then clambers to his feet and offers her a hand up, once she is back on her feet he turns toward Celadon.
"Come on Cassie let's go find a hostel to stay in for the night."
With that the excitable man takes off towards the city.

Cassie blushed vigorously when Declan commented on her smiling, and she quickly averted her eyes as she murmured, her grin dimming into a shy smile. "Th-thank you..." Tucking the Pokeball into her backpack, she zipped it shut and slid it onto her back, then looked up at Declan when he offered his hand. Taking said hand, she let him pull her to her feet, then leaned down and scooped up Piplup, who laughed happily as Cassie nuzzled her. Saying nothing, she trotted off behind Declan, following him to Celadon City.

Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. Cassie had left early that morning with Piplup and Vulpix, and she was now standing in the tall grass at the edge of the road, with her two Pokemon out; Piplup was in front of her, and Vulpix was at her side. They were facing off against a Pidgey, and she had a determined look on her face.
"Okay Piplup, use Growl on Pidgey!" Piplup made a ferocious face and uttered a bird-like growl at the Pidgey, while Vulpix crouched down and flicked his tail in the air, waiting for his chance to get in on the action, and uttering encouraging sounds at the penguin Pokemon.

Piplup's attempt to be ferocious was so cute that the Pidgey just seemed to laugh. Then it flapped its wings and sent a gust of wind hurtling at Piplup, who chirped in distress as she was knocked over. But she quickly stood again, and that was when Cassie struck. Or, well, Piplup did, at Cassie's instruction.
"Okay, now use Bubble!" Piplup chirped and inhaled, then expelled a jet of bubbles from its beak directly at Pidgey. The bird was caught unawares and squawked as it was drenched with water, and shook its head angrily. It was having a little trouble staying aloft now, its wings flapping sluggishly. Cassie looked pleased, until the Pidgey suddenly darted in tackled Piplup, sending the smaller non-flying bird tumbling. Piplup found her feet again with a gentle nudge from Vulpix, and stood, glaring at Pidgey. Cassie tried again.
"Hit him with a Pound!" Piplup darted forward and jumped upward, slamming her head into the Pidgey, who got knocked out of the air and into the ground. It stood with difficulty and swept its wing into the ground, hurling sand into Piplup's face. "Bubble again!" More bubbles were shot out, and the Pidgey responded with another sluggish gust of wind. Cassie realized this was her chance, and uttered a final desperate cry.
"Pound him again!" Piplup chirped and spun around, slapping the Pidgey hard with one flipper. The Pidgey went down with a cry and fell unconscious. Cassie squealed and ran over, swooping Piplup into her arms and nuzzling the Pokemon lovingly while Vulpix pranced and crooned around her feet. "You did it! I knew you could!" Piplup chirped tiredly and cuddled into Cassie.. who was still completely oblivious to Declan's presence. But Vulpix had noticed him, and now stood silent at Cassie's feet, staring at him with his tails fluffed up.

Declan watches the battle with interest. Cassie isn't bad, not great, but she wasn't being silly. It helped that piplup adored her and was trying extra hard. More than anything that was what counted in battle, your bond with your pokemon. He smiles broadly when she wins and starts celebrating and he gives her a round of sincere applause.

Cassie jumped in startled surprise when she heard the applause behind her, and whirled around to stare wide-eyed at the source. Seeing Declan, a flush filled her cheeks, and she dropped her gaze to the ground as she began to fidget. The smile didn't leave her face, though, even as she scuffed the toe of her sneaker against the ground and spoke softly.
"..How much of that did you see?" Vulpix moved to sit beside her feet, tails swishing, and headbutt her knee affectionately. Piplup continued to cuddle into her embrace, tired but happy, and after a few moments, Cassie glanced shyly up at Declan, her smile dimmed but still present. She couldn't believe that Piplup had beaten that Pidgey, and with her guidance. She never thought she'd be a good trainer, had never wanted to be, but maybe.. maybe she had a shot.

"The whole thing, you did really well. You have a tight bond with piplup. That is the most important thing for a trainer."
Declan walks over a clasps Cassie on the shoulder. He smiles done at her clearly thrilled by what he saw. He was also equally thrilled that she didn't seem to be upset with him anymore. He supposed it had to do with him now understanding her emotions. He had sudden urge to actually understand, which was rare for him. Still he wasn't sure how to express that so instead he ask a question.
"What brought this on?"
