Declan nods pauses and then says.
"We should give her an everstone, that way she won't evolve till you are ready."
Declan nods and begins shifting through a mental list. He was a battle maniac, but he also had a sense for which pokemon fit with people. This sense was perhaps that closest thing he had to an insight into others. He made a mental list of which pokemon Cassie would match with and where they could get them. He would get to that soon. Outside in the pokemon pen the fire types gather around the the tiny piplup. Inferno the large charizard, bumps the little thing gently with his nose and grumbles appreciatively.

Physical Appearance: She is a tallish woman, at about 5'10", with blue hair (not natural, natural is brown) and brown eyes. A rather attractive figure is usually complimented by some sort of beach or sunbathing attire, except for her Gym Uniform which strongly resembles that of a wetsuit
Skills: Swimming, diving, and calming down wayward Pokemon, as well as combating fires, due to her gym's close relationship with the Kanto Fire Department. She is also a phenomenal Pokemon Trainer and Gym Leader, focusing more on training new trainers and others than on actually battling challengers.
Personality: She is very cool-headed and calm, always ready with a quick word to diffuse a situation. She will also use almost any opportunity as a learning opportunity for those younger or less experienced than her, and is always willing to become a mentor to other Trainers.

Sarah sat back and listened to the two talk, while watching her Pokemon interact. Floatzel was doing his usual climbing of Milotic, and Milotic kept picking him up with her tail and putting him back down. It was a game they had played since she had originally caught him as a Wuizel, just before she had become the Cerulean Gym Leader. It brought a smile to her face, just as it always had.

Physical Appearance: At eighteen years old and an unimpressive 5'2", Cassie's stature matches her timid personality. Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. She has delicately formed features that are often described as "cute", especially with that little nose (that turns upward ever so slightly at the end), that are set with a pair of pale blue eyes that sometimes appear lilac in certain lights. Her skin is quite pale despite how much time she spends outside, although she does keep most of her body covered with her attire, which is an odd blend of adorable, modest, and sexy. It consists of a black tank top under a long-sleeved shirt that hangs off of her shoulders, the body being white and the sleeves being a dark indigo, with a front pocket edged in pale blue; this shirt is long enough that it mostly covers her (admittedly short) green plaid skirt. This skirt reveals a few inches of pale thigh before the remainder of her legs are covered by a set of striped stockings in two shades of purple. Topping off the ensemble is a pair of plain white sneakers with black accents. She wears a golden oval locket around her neck which has a picture of her father, and a brown leather belt around her left thigh.

She also wants to see the world and all the amazing things it has to offer. She loves cute and cuddly things and her favorite Pokemon is the only one she currently owns, Piplup.

Cassie smiled at Declan when he called Piplup adorable. She really couldn't disagree, after all. She thought the little bird was too cute for words. She didn't have much to say on the subject of them being a good match, however. She suspected he had his reasons for saying so, and that they were something along the lines of, 'You're both cute', which made her uncomfortable. She didn't want to get on that subject again, as she didn't think she was even remotely cute. She did, however, pause with a mouthful of sandwich and look at Declan with slightly wide eyes. She hastened to finish her bite and swallow, then licked a dab of mayo from her lower lip before she spoke.
"I.. I'd like that, but.. Everstones aren't very easy to find. I'll do my best, though. I love Piplup just the way she is." She didn't admit that she didn't exactly have a lot of money, either. She was just a girl, after all, one fresh out of school and with her first Pokemon. Piplup chirped cheerily up at Inferno as she got nudged, raising her ball with a happy air and an offer to play. She wasn't as shy as her trainer, but she was just as friendly.

"I have a few in my PC, you can have one."
Declan says this off hand between bites of his burrito. If Cassie had learned anything, she would know it was pointless to argue. He had decided that Piplup fit her better unevolved. That meant he would give her the everstone simple as that. Outside Inferno takes the offered ball and studies it. After a moment he throws it gently across the play area for the Piplup to chase. The other fire types watch amused.

Declan's words made Cassie blink, and she quickly chewed and swallowed before trying to speak again. "That's.. really nice of you, Mister Dawn, but.. I wouldn't feel right accepting something like that from you." Cassie had never been okay with receiving gifts.. not from anyone but her father. He'd always made her feel so at ease about it. She'd been so uncomfortable with the whole thing after he died that her mother had even stopped giving her birthday presents when she was eleven, and no one had given her anything since.. except for when she'd chosen Piplup. Then again, had that really been a gift? She wasn't sure. She hadn't exactly given anything in exchange for the Pokemon, but.. somehow, getting Piplup didn't seem like a present. It was a great responsibility, having to take care of another living being, helping it grow and learn.
She turned and looked outside as she mulled over these thoughts, watching Piplup go chasing after the ball thrown by Inferno with happy squeaks, kicking and chasing it around the fenced-in area, before catching it and taking it back to the Charizard to be thrown again, making happy noises all the while. She felt genuine love for the little Pokemon, something she hadn't felt for anyone since her father died, and the emotion was openly reflected on her face. She would do just about anything to keep Piplup happy and safe.. although seeing her stay tiny and adorable forever would also be a huge plus, a thought that made her smile. Then she looked back at Declan, and her expression sobered, becoming a determined one. "..But if you insist, I'll accept. I'll just.. find a way to repay you."

Declan burrito devoured and fries disappearing wipes his hands with a napkin. Heading over to the nearby public use PC he logs into his account. Within seconds he retrieves an everstone from his inventory. It is a small unremarkable stone slung on a leather string. He returns to the table and tosses it to Cassie with a grin. PC's were convenient bless whoever figured out how to digitize items for later retrieval. Finishing off his fries he says with a grin.
"Don't worry about repaying me, you are going to make things interesting for me. That is repayment enough..."
Something catches his eye and he leans in to get a closer look at Cassie.
"You get cuter when you look at Piplup. It's kinda adorable."
He declares this and then reclaims his seat taking a swig of soda. Meanwhile outside Roxy and Ember join in on the play, tossing the ball back and forth and back to Piplup.

Cassie watched Declan leave and took the last bite of her sandwich, swallowing just as he returned and tossed the stone toward her. Her eyes widened, and she reached up with both hands to catch the thing, fumbling it and nearly dropping it before clutching the Everstone to her chest. She looked down at it, then up at Declan, and something about her softened as she heard his words. In that moment, she resolved to find some way to repay him. She would find the perfect gift and give it to him, no matter how much he might protest. He was doing so much for her.. taking her as his student, giving her an Everstone for Piplup, he was going to help her find the right team for her... She owed him more than he could possibly understand. And then she was blushing and her eyes rounded again, and she looked away as she stuttered.
"I-I, y-you, I'm n-not, st-stop calling me that!" Even as she said it, she was smiling, and trying very hard to hide it as she ducked her head and hunched her shoulders up. Did he really think she was cute..? Did he think she was pretty, too? She shook her head, dispelling that thought. No, there were girls like Sarah around, and probably even prettier ones than her, that Declan had probably met.. girls who were confident and beautiful. There was no way he'd think she was pretty with girls like that in the world. Tucking the stone into her shirt pocket, she grabbed her water and focused on drinking it as she turned away, watching Piplup play with Roxy and Ember, the happy little Pokemon laughing and chirping as the ball was tossed around. No matter what other Pokemon she might get.. Piplup would always be her best friend.

"Why you're smiling you clearly like it?"
Declan sounds confused again, but he quickly shakes it off. It wasn't as though he would stop anyway. It wasn't something he had ever actually thought about, but he was never one to not speak his mind. If he didn't like something he said it, if he did like something he said, if someone was cute he told them. For Declan that was just how the world worked and he was also confused when people told him not to do that. What was he supposed to say instead? That was what he sometimes wondered before he moved on. Thinking of moving on moved him back to a standing position.
"Oh! We should get started I know the first pokemon for your team. Come on lets go to Route 8!"
Like that he would barge out of the pokemon center, returning a minute later to retrieve his pokemon.

She was shunned by the other children from a very young age, and that was fine by her; she was perfectly happy to spend most of her time with her favorite person in the world, her father Will. But when Cassie was eight, her father fell ill and ended up in the hospital. After a few months of struggling against illness, he passed away. Cassie, who had never been close to her mother, withdrew into herself, becoming even more reclusive than before. She found solace in reading her father's books about Pokemon, and studying them as he had done. She wanted to make him proud, and so when she finished her schooling, she decided to become a Pokemon trainer and see the world.

"I.. I don't know why I'm smiling!" And she really didn't, that was the confusing part. Finishing off her water, she was about to throw away her empty food things when Declan declared they were leaving, and she blinked at him. Then she was on her feet and scrambling. "Wait! Declan-- Err, Mister Dawn! I need to go back home and get my backpack!" ..And he was leaving without his Pokemon. She huffed a confused sound and headed toward where Piplup was playing with the others, crouching down and calling the Pokemon over. When Piplup grabbed her ball and waddled over, Cassie held up the Everstone and tied it around Piplup's neck, smiling as she explained to the curious-looking bird.
"It's an Everstone, and it's very special. I want you to keep that for me, okay? Declan gave it to us just for you." Piplup squeaked happily and threw herself into Cassie's arms, and the trainer hugged her as she laughed, cuddling the Pokemon with great affection. When Declan returned for his Pokemon, Cassie would stand and follow him, carrying Piplup.. who was again holding her ball and squeaking excitedly all the while. "Dec-- Mister Dawn, I need to go home and get some things, and also leave a note for my mom." Hopefully he would understand, and as she began to follow him out of the Pokecenter, she waved to Sarah. "Goodbye, Miss Sarah."

Physical Appearance: She is a tallish woman, at about 5'10", with blue hair (not natural, natural is brown) and brown eyes. A rather attractive figure is usually complimented by some sort of beach or sunbathing attire, except for her Gym Uniform which strongly resembles that of a wetsuit
Skills: Swimming, diving, and calming down wayward Pokemon, as well as combating fires, due to her gym's close relationship with the Kanto Fire Department. She is also a phenomenal Pokemon Trainer and Gym Leader, focusing more on training new trainers and others than on actually battling challengers.
Personality: She is very cool-headed and calm, always ready with a quick word to diffuse a situation. She will also use almost any opportunity as a learning opportunity for those younger or less experienced than her, and is always willing to become a mentor to other Trainers.

Sarah had stepped out mid-Burrito Bowl to answer her phone. Sensing the urgency in her actions, Floatzel and Milotic stood and waited patiently for her to give instructions.
"Yes...yes, they did WHAT? Ok, okay, Yes officer, I will be there as soon as possible."
She ran to catch up to Declan before he could leave, grabbing him by the shoulder once she caught up.
"Declan, I need your help. That was Officer Jenny, Team Rocket attacked the Daycare, and I need to get there ASAP, can you fly me?"

"Okay, let's go get your things. Then to route..."
Declan paused and looked at Sarah curiously as she spoke. His smile dipped inch by inch with each word until his expression was cool and serious. He nods once and throws out Drago and Inferno.
"Cassie go home and get your gear, I'll come find you as soon as this done. Sarah take Drago let's get moving."
Then without another word Declan jumps on Inferno's back and takes off. Hopefully Sarah remembers to find out where Cassie lives for Declan. If she doesn't the hot headed trainer would start barging into random people's houses until he found her.

Overhearing what's going on, Skarlet contemplates if she should follow. When they get up and start heading for the door, Skarlet runs to the PC and withdraws her Pokémon team that she had used to win her latest tournament and heads outside. Riding Flygon, she could catch up to them.

Physical Appearance: At eighteen years old and an unimpressive 5'2", Cassie's stature matches her timid personality. Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. She has delicately formed features that are often described as "cute", especially with that little nose (that turns upward ever so slightly at the end), that are set with a pair of pale blue eyes that sometimes appear lilac in certain lights. Her skin is quite pale despite how much time she spends outside, although she does keep most of her body covered with her attire, which is an odd blend of adorable, modest, and sexy. It consists of a black tank top under a long-sleeved shirt that hangs off of her shoulders, the body being white and the sleeves being a dark indigo, with a front pocket edged in pale blue; this shirt is long enough that it mostly covers her (admittedly short) green plaid skirt. This skirt reveals a few inches of pale thigh before the remainder of her legs are covered by a set of striped stockings in two shades of purple. Topping off the ensemble is a pair of plain white sneakers with black accents. She wears a golden oval locket around her neck which has a picture of her father, and a brown leather belt around her left thigh.

Cassie came to a halt when Sarah approached Declan, and her eyes rounded in alarm at hearing what was going on. Then she nodded vigorously in response to Declan. "Okay. I'll wait at my house for you." She figured Sarah could tell him where she lived. With Piplup in her arms, she rushed out of the Pokemon Center and back to her house.

Wasting no time, Sarah took off after Declan, swinging her leg up and over Drago just before he launched into the air. The Daycare fell under her responsibility, and she knew Kaila was not in good health. Hopefully they would get there before Team Rocket could escape, but it would be at least a couple of hours.
