 The Safari Zone is a special Pokémon preserve in Kanto that Trainers can enter to capture Pokémon. It is owned by the Warden. In the Safari Zone, when a wild Pokémon appears, Trainers cannot send out Pokémon to battle it. Instead, Trainers must face Pokémon only with simple tools, and catching a Pokémon becomes much more reliant on luck, as Pokémon are able to run away from the Trainer at any time.  |

Physical Appearance: At eighteen years old and an unimpressive 5'2", Cassie's stature matches her timid personality. Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. She has delicately formed features that are often described as "cute", especially with that little nose (that turns upward ever so slightly at the end), that are set with a pair of pale blue eyes that sometimes appear lilac in certain lights. Her skin is quite pale despite how much time she spends outside, although she does keep most of her body covered with her attire, which is an odd blend of adorable, modest, and sexy. It consists of a black tank top under a long-sleeved shirt that hangs off of her shoulders, the body being white and the sleeves being a dark indigo, with a front pocket edged in pale blue; this shirt is long enough that it mostly covers her (admittedly short) green plaid skirt. This skirt reveals a few inches of pale thigh before the remainder of her legs are covered by a set of striped stockings in two shades of purple. Topping off the ensemble is a pair of plain white sneakers with black accents. She wears a golden oval locket around her neck which has a picture of her father, and a brown leather belt around her left thigh.

She found solace in reading her father's books about Pokemon, and studying them as he had done. She wanted to make him proud, and so when she finished her schooling, she decided to become a Pokemon trainer and see the world.

Cassie purchased her thirty Safari Balls from the Warden and entered the Safari Zone with open trepidation. Would she be able to find a Dratini in time? The Warden said she wouldn't be able to stay after the sun set, and her eyes flicked anxiously toward the sky. It was mid-morning now, which meant she had most of the day left, but Dratini was really rare and she knew it would be hard to find one in time. Chewing on her lip, she began walking, looking around and talking to herself.
"Okay, Cassie, think. Dratini likes water. So start looking for water." After giving herself that little pep-talk, she began walking with a determined stride, looking for any streams, ponds, lakes, whatever. There had to be a Dratini somewhere.

Dratini was indeed rare, indeed they were the hardest pokemon to find in the zone. Hours pass and Cassie finds many bodies of water. At each one though she is met with failure. The little dragons are illusive and rare. Still she encounters many other pokemon, fortunately in the zone most of the wild pokemon are used to humans. They are still skittish of being caught, but they don't attack willy nilly. Eventually as the sun is dipping below the horizon she would stumble upon a clear still pond. It was a quiet and reflective place and more importantly there was something snuggled up on the bank. It was a tiny blue body slumbering peacefully and it was what Cassie was here for. The question was how to catch it? She had no pokemon to weaken it, just some bait, and a few rocks.

Cassie was getting tired, and she was about ready to give up. Then she saw it. A Dratini sleeping beside the water. She froze, and her eyes widened. What should she do? Her first instinct was to try and wake it up and make friends with it, but she was afraid that wouldn't work. Then again.. maybe she could come back tomorrow and try again? She bit her lip, waffling.. then decided to go with a perhaps not quite nice avenue. Pulling one of the Safari Balls out of the sack they were in, she squinted at the Dratini, trying to do her best to judge the distance. She didn't have the best aim, but she usually did fairly well catching Pokemon, or so she thought. Hoping that she could manage to catch it while it slept, she threw the Pokeball at the sleeping Dratini and held her breath.

The little dragon is sucked into the ball. The ball waggles once, twice, then shatters releasing the adorable little dragon. "Draaaaaaa!" The little pokemon cries out surprised as it re-materializes. It looks around startled and is about ready to bolt. If Cassie doesn't act quick it will get away!

Dammit! She should've known that wouldn't work. Fumbling around in the bag, she produced the package full of bait and pulled some out, tossing it toward the Dratini. "I'm so sorry, little guy. I didn't mean to scare you. Here, look, tasty food! You should eat some." And then she'd toss some more bait, not quite as far away. And a little bit more, even closer. Creating a trail that led from the first bit of bait and up to her hand, which was held out hopefully with some of the bait resting in her loosely-curled hand. Would it work? She was breathless with anticipation.

The Dratini flinched as the bait landed. It was about to dart into the water when it caught the scent. It froze then slowly sniffed at the food. Cautiously carefully it took a little nibble. "Dra!" It chortled happily at the taste and began to wiggle forward nomming food as it goes. When it reaches Cassie it only hesitates for a moment before devouring the food in her hand. It's soft tongue licking traces of food out thoroughly, before moving to sniff at her bag. "Draaaaaa!" It nudges the bag eagerly, clearly hoping for more food.

It worked. Cassie relaxed a little, smiling as the Dratini came closer. She laughed when he sought out more of the bait in her bag, and she dug some more out, offering it to him. "Good stuff, huh? Let's see if..." Rather than finishing that statement, she decided to just.. try it. While the Dratini was eating out of her hand, she raised the other one and gently petted him, running her hand along the length of his smooth, serpentine body. He was so darn cute. Like it was honestly a little ridiculous. What with that little face and the fins on either side of his head. D'aw.

The scales of the dratini are almost invisible to the naked eye, but they are there. They are incredible fine, soft, and warm to the touch and a little tingle would run up Cassie's spin as she pets it. The Dratini would be a little surprised by the touch, but it coos happily as it continues to eat. It clearly isn't afraid of Cassie at the moment.

Cassie sighed. So soft. With the Dratini distracted as he ate, she reached up and gently stroked the top of his head, enjoying this for just a few moments. Then she sneakily reached down and grabbed another Safari Ball, and tried to catch the Dratini again. It was probably going to fail, but.. she had to at least try, didn't she? She bit her lip and waited to see what would happen.

Her jaw dropped. She did it! Cassie squealed in surprised delight, then stuffed the ball into her backpack. After thrusting the bag of bait back into the bag with the Safari Balls, she lurched to her feet and began running back the way she'd come, making for the Safari Zone's exit. She was grinning. She had to find Declan and share the good news with him! Once she got to the entrance, she slipped into the building there and handed over the bag of bait and Safari Balls to the Warden, looking around for Declan with that grin still on her face.

Declan was lounging in the waiting area when Cassie bounced in. He took one look at her grinned broadly and pulled her into a hug. He could tell she had succeeded and that filled him with joy. The hug quickly turns into a kiss and the kiss quickly starts to get heated. On the chair behind him sits a package wrapped in a blanket, but he has forgotten about it. He is too focused on her to remember the gift he got her.

Cassie laughed and nearly jumped into Declan's arms when he hugged her, squeezing him as tightly as her little body could manage. She happened to catch a glimpse of something on the chair behind him, but then she found herself being kissed. She sighed into the embrace of lips, but when she felt his hands begin to roam (namely curving over her posterior, as he seemed most fond of doing), she ended up giggling and breaking the kiss to whisper to him.
"Declan, not here!" She gave him quick peck and giggled again, then looked past him at the blanket-wrapped mystery on the chair. Her head tilted curiously as she eyed it. "What's that?"

Declan sighs in disappointment. He doesn't really get her shyness, but he has accepted it. Setting Cassie down on the ground his attention turns to the item he brought. A wide grin splits his face and he remembers his plan. He scoops up the item and thrusts it into Cassie's arms.
"It's a gift! Open it."
When she pulls off the blanket she would find an oblong object, multi colored, and weighting about five pounds. It looks like a large egg, indeed it is an egg, a pokemon egg. Declan stares at her excited and expectantly.
