1. Battle is turn by turn. That means each person involved gets a chance to post before the next person goes.
2. Moves do not auto-hit. The person receiving the attack will describe the effect on their character. You may describe what will likely happen if it hits, but that is not the final say in the matter.
3. Pokemon battles should be between even numbers of pokemon, unless agreed upon to be different, or in cases where trainers are ambushed by "bad" guys. You do not have to specify which Pokemon will participate, except in Pokemon League battles.
4. You may be held responsible for damage you cause during a pokemon battle, intentional or not.
5. Pokemon learn the same moves they are capable of in the games. Same goes for teaching them TMs.
6. Weaknesses, resistances, immunities, etc. are the same as they are in the games.
7. Items that may be used in battle must be declared at the beginning of the battle.
8. Gym leaders set the in-game rules for their own gyms.
