Declan remarks as he takes Cassie's hand. He did that a lot, take her smaller hand in his. It was an oddly innocent gesture for a man so passionate. It seemed like Declan shouldn't enjoy walking hand in hand with her, but he does. Just one of his many odd foibles of character.He pulls her along heading toward the gym. It was the afternoon so Dakota should be there, or at least in the area.

Physical Appearance: At eighteen years old and an unimpressive 5'2", Cassie's stature matches her timid personality. Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. She has delicately formed features that are often described as "cute", especially with that little nose (that turns upward ever so slightly at the end), that are set with a pair of pale blue eyes that sometimes appear lilac in certain lights. Her skin is quite pale despite how much time she spends outside, although she does keep most of her body covered with her attire, which is an odd blend of adorable, modest, and sexy. It consists of a black tank top under a long-sleeved shirt that hangs off of her shoulders, the body being white and the sleeves being a dark indigo, with a front pocket edged in pale blue; this shirt is long enough that it mostly covers her (admittedly short) green plaid skirt. This skirt reveals a few inches of pale thigh before the remainder of her legs are covered by a set of striped stockings in two shades of purple. Topping off the ensemble is a pair of plain white sneakers with black accents. She wears a golden oval locket around her neck which has a picture of her father, and a brown leather belt around her left thigh.

She's fascinated by Pokemon and likes to learn as much about them as she can, which is a large part of what drove her to become a Pokemon trainer. She also wants to see the world and all the amazing things it has to offer. She loves cute and cuddly things and her favorite Pokemon is the only one she currently owns, Piplup.

But when Cassie was eight, her father fell ill and ended up in the hospital. After a few months of struggling against illness, he passed away. Cassie, who had never been close to her mother, withdrew into herself, becoming even more reclusive than before. She found solace in reading her father's books about Pokemon, and studying them as he had done. She wanted to make him proud, and so when she finished her schooling, she decided to become a Pokemon trainer and see the world.

"You have a point. Still. I think it would be nice to live here." With her hand in his, Cassie happily followed him off the beach and to the gym, humming all the while. Although said humming did break off temporarily as a thought occurred to her, and she voiced it, looking curiously up at Declan. "We'll find time to enjoy the beach while we're here, right? I love the beach."

Cassie in hand and Dakota in tow Declan made his way to the beach. There were plenty of food stands and a few restaurants set up along the shore. Including the surfing MediCham a Thai food place with a patio eating area. Declan grabs a table for himself and his companions and settles in. The waitress takes note of him and scribbles something down. He had eaten here enough when he was gym leader that they knew his order. Pad Thai with beef extra spicy.

Cassie followed Declan, not that she had much choice given he was holding on to her hand, and chatted with Dakota as they went. Sitting down at the table beside him, she ordered green tea and, after briefly perusing the menu, Phad kee Mao with chicken. The menu was handed off to the waitress as she adjusted her Togepi egg in her lap. She basically refused to put the thing down unless she was sleeping, as she didn't want to risk it hatching and her being too distracted to notice. She looked out at the nearby ocean and sighed.
"It's so pretty here. I can't wait to go for a swim." Then her nose wrinkled. Hopefully she'd have time to go for a swim.. she couldn't be training her Pokemon 24/7 after all, right?

Physical Appearance: Like her brother, Dakota is a very attractive woman in her early twenties. Shoulder length red hair accentuates her bright green eyes, and complements a very attractive face. She is constantly hiking, and has a (mostly) slim, lean body, typical of runners or bikers.
Skills: Hiking, climbing, biking, and base-jumping. Anything that provides a thrill, she is likely to try it.
Personality: Hot-headed and energetic, it is rare to find her not doing some kind of physical activity, usually right alongside her Arcanine. She will also talk your ear off about anything under the sun that interests her, but is charming and an excellent friend to those in need. She does not do well staying in one place or with a lot of responsibility.
History (Optional): She took over the Cinnabar Gym for her brother when he went to go join the Elite 4, and is not happy with it at all. This has led to some minor resentment of her brother, as he gets to go explore the world why she remains behind and watches the Gym.

Dakota winked at her as she mentioned swimming. She had gotten just a glass of water with some pad thai. She had a cake to look forward to later.
"He is going to be training you, you'll get to swim if its part of the training. Its a very rigorous training regime, but it works, he is quite good at training people."
She looked over to where Arcanine was curled up near the entrance to the table. Declan was damn good at training, her Arcanine had crushed the Onix when she caught it, at a double type disadvantage too.

Declan nods at Dakota's assessment. He was a firm believer that you had to train yourself as well as your pokemon. A trainer should lead by example, also sometimes battle could be physically intensive. The waiter arrived with everyone's drinks, they brought him a lemonade. Declan takes a sip and then realizes what Cassie had actually been getting at. He really was getting better at this whole understanding others things, or at the very least understanding Cassie.
"Don't worry though there will be some down time. You have to work hard, but you also need rest. If you push yourself too hard bad things can happen."

Cassie looked a little disappointed by what Dakota said, but she quickly covered it up with a smile, although she was silent. She knew this training with Declan wasn't going to be a picnic, but it was so pretty here, she was really hoping to get some time to relax and just be with him, and enjoy the scenery with their Pokemon. She took her drink from the waiter and was sipping at it when Declan spoke, and she blinked at him.. then set her drink down with a grin.
"Oh, good. That sounds nice." She fell silent again after that. She really wasn't much of a talker.

"Well I certainly hope you like the island more than I do Cassie. It is beautiful here for certain, but after two years I am tired of it. I can't wait to go see what else is in Kanto!"
She drained nearly her entire glass of water as she spoke. Spending most of your time in or near a reasonably active volcano sure did make one parched. Her comment was not said maliciously, she really did hope that Cassie enjoyed her time on the island and was very gratefu that they were willing to watch the gym while she took her vacation with Iris.

There it was that typical Declan obliviousness. Of course the man hadn't realized that his sister never traveled. Over the last two years he had switched between training her and tending the volcano, it never having occurred that Dakota couldn't leave the island easily. Not like he could at any rate. When he wanted to travel he had his pokemon. He didn't really think of the ramifications of her only having Arcanine.
"I didn't realize. You should have said something I would have lent you drago so you could go out."
It was then their food arrived. The easily distracted man took his and began to eat hungrily.

"I think this place and Viridian Forest are probably my favorite places in Kanto, thus far." That was her only contribution to the conversation, although she did give Declan a fond if exasperated look as he realized his little sister hadn't gotten to wander like he did. She said nothing about it, however, especially as their food arrived soon after. She began to eat in small, dainty bites, enjoying the food and the company in silence.

Physical Appearance: Like her brother, Dakota is a very attractive woman in her early twenties. Shoulder length red hair accentuates her bright green eyes, and complements a very attractive face. She is constantly hiking, and has a (mostly) slim, lean body, typical of runners or bikers.
Skills: Hiking, climbing, biking, and base-jumping. Anything that provides a thrill, she is likely to try it.
Personality: Hot-headed and energetic, it is rare to find her not doing some kind of physical activity, usually right alongside her Arcanine. She will also talk your ear off about anything under the sun that interests her, but is charming and an excellent friend to those in need. She does not do well staying in one place or with a lot of responsibility.
History (Optional): She took over the Cinnabar Gym for her brother when he went to go join the Elite 4, and is not happy with it at all. This has led to some minor resentment of her brother, as he gets to go explore the world why she remains behind and watches the Gym.

"I could have gotten out easily, there are boats you know Declan. I just never had time to do so. Oh look! The food's here."
She set to her food with a will, wolfing it down as if she hadn't eaten all day. She had, but she was still starving. She nodded her thanks to the waitstaff as she dug in. Her food disappeared in a manner completely contradictory to Cassie's small dainty bites, with Dakota only pausing to wipe her mouth with a napkin or take a sip of water.

Declan noted his dislike of boats well documented. His meal disappeared as quickly as his sisters and when he was done he threw some Zeni on the table. He idly sipped at his drink thinking on the next few days activities.

Physical Appearance: At eighteen years old and an unimpressive 5'2", Cassie's stature matches her timid personality. Her hair is cut short, although it's slightly longer in front, and is a vivid light purple color. She has delicately formed features that are often described as "cute", especially with that little nose (that turns upward ever so slightly at the end), that are set with a pair of pale blue eyes that sometimes appear lilac in certain lights. Her skin is quite pale despite how much time she spends outside, although she does keep most of her body covered with her attire, which is an odd blend of adorable, modest, and sexy. It consists of a black tank top under a long-sleeved shirt that hangs off of her shoulders, the body being white and the sleeves being a dark indigo, with a front pocket edged in pale blue; this shirt is long enough that it mostly covers her (admittedly short) green plaid skirt. This skirt reveals a few inches of pale thigh before the remainder of her legs are covered by a set of striped stockings in two shades of purple. Topping off the ensemble is a pair of plain white sneakers with black accents. She wears a golden oval locket around her neck which has a picture of her father, and a brown leather belt around her left thigh.

Skills: Cassie is a skilled singer, although usually too shy to sing where people can hear her. She can also ride a bike and rollerskate, preferring the latter to the former; she can often be seen skating around town, listening to music.

Personality: Shy and non-confrontational, Cassie doesn't often speak to others, and perpetually keeps a lollipop in her mouth to use as an excuse to avoid conversation. She likes to read and keep to herself and doesn't have any true friends. She's fascinated by Pokemon and likes to learn as much about them as she can, which is a large part of what drove her to become a Pokemon trainer. She also wants to see the world and all the amazing things it has to offer. She loves cute and cuddly things and her favorite Pokemon is the only one she currently owns, Piplup.

Cassie giggled around her mouthful of food when Declan commented on his dislike of boats, and after she had swallowed, she reached over to rub his shoulder in a manner that was both soothing and affectionate.
"Poor Declan." She gave him a fond smile, then returned to her food. Despite the size of her bites, she ate quickly, and finished only shortly after the sibling pair did. Sighing contentedly, she wiped her mouth with a napkin before curling her arms around her Togepi egg, hugging it to her body happily, and tilted her head up to bask in the sunlight streaming down from above, a peaceful smile on her face.
